The Good: The physics of the game is so realistic, and it makes cool puzzles. Very good story. Monsters in the ocean that scare the crap out of you. Great atmosphere. The driving of the game is just awesome." "" "The Bad: Multiplayer would make this game even better. Slightly worse on the pc visually and gameplay...ly. Loading times does take a while." "" "At 1998, one of the biggest steps the first person games has taken was that they created the game half-life. The game was just awesome, that's all everyone said. Then they've made counterstrike, a multiplayer mod to make first person mutliplayer games even more fun. Then at 2004, half-life 2 on the pc came out. It was even better than the first, with outstanding graphics, and one of the best gameplay I've ever seen. Then, they released it on xbox, which was a good step, because they should bring this game to consoles so more people can experience how cool the game is. Although it is slightly worse than the pc version, half life 2 on xbox is one of the greatest shooters ever. If you own an xbox, you must get this game. If you don't... prepare to die." "" "The story of the game is based 5 or 6 years after the first part. You play the same character, Gordan Freeman, who would make an excellent match against whatever his name is, you know that guy in Halo. But, we don't know what happened to him between the 5 or 6 years. But, he wakes up, and he sees the G-man. He says that it is time, time to go back to hell. Bad for Gordan, good for us. All you know in the beginning is that he got transferred back to City 17. But, now the city is like super corrupted. There's these people in gas masks just beat on the citizens of the city. Good thing you're escaping. You are re-introduced to some of the old characters in the game such as Dr.Kleiner and Barney. Also, there are some new characters that are introduced to you in the game. Such as Eli Vance, Alyx Vance, and Dr. Breen." "" "The game is like one of the ways people teach you how to swim. Just throw you at the lake and leave you there to learn on your own. You just start in City 17, not knowing what to do, and trying not to get beat up by the cops. But later you are the freedom fighter for City 17, just like that cuban guy. This idea is quite good, but is left for more experienced gamers. It was even hard not to go to walkthrough to find out where to go." "" "First off, I want to tell you the best part of the game. No it's not the physics, and a lot think it is the best part, but nope. For me, the best of part of the game is the weapons. Of course, they have the weapons that every game must have, but they are so unique. The rocket launcher is a great example. Not only does it launch rockets, but it has a laser targeting feature so that you'll know where it goes to improve your accuracy. There is also the crowbar, even though it sounds so plain, it actually is very fun to use. You will use this weapon for quite a while in the game, you will also use it frequently throughout the whole game. That is because there are headcrabs, and the most effictive way of killing them is with the crowbar. There is also the pistol, magnum (one of my favorite), shotgun, submachine gun, crossbow, grenade launcher, pheropod, gauss gun, pulse rifle, and the grenades. There is one gun that I must talk about, the gravity gun. Basically, this gun uses the laws of physics. What you can do, is either shoot an object, making the object fly somewhere, or you can suck the object, and then shoot it, or drop it somewhere else. You are introduced to this weapon when you play with dog, which is a giant robot, and you play fetch with him. This is really fun, because you take a object, and throw it at him, and then he throws it back. This is always such with explosive barrels and throw it at the zombies." "" "There is also something very special in this game, the physics. Although most games use physics for very small reasons, this game uses physics so much more. Because of the physics, there are puzzles that are just amazing. Like this one puzzle, where there is this ramp that you must go off to reach the sewers, but the beginning of the ramp is too high for you to reach. So you take some barrels, and put them in this cage underwater, pushing the end of the ramp up, therefore making the ramp in the beginning go down. Also, you can take boxes, and stack them so you climb onto a window. This is also, just very realistic, boxes that doesn't have much support will fall, and things that are light will float. Also, because of the physics, you'll be able to use the gravity gun." "" "Another special feature about this game is that you see the game throughout the eyes of Gordan Freeman. There is no cutscenes at all, and all of the characters speak to you like you are Gordan Freeman. Like most of the other video games, Gordan Freeman doesn't say one word at all. Even though some of the games does have the main character have voices, is silence works brilliantly. Even though there is no talking, they just make the characters talk to you like real life. Plus, since there is cutscenes, it forces you to know the whole storyline, so you cutscene skippers can't skip it. HAHA!! Also, there is no such things as levels in this game. You move from one place to the other, kind of like real. This makes you feel like you're Gordan Freeman, sometimes I think I am him while playing the game, except that I don't feel the pain when he gets shot." "" "In some parts of the game, there is some driving for you to do. There is a hoverboat, and a buggy for you to drive. No these cars don't have 300 horsepower and can own a lambo, but they do a mounted weapon on them. And in my opinion, the driving is the most fun part of the game. you can just shoot all of the enemies, but some parts are annoying, like when those long-tongue creatures suck you out of the car. There are also some other fun parts such as taking down a helicopter." "" "When it comes to the levels of the game, they are just amazing. There are lots of times where you just go "Wow! This is a nice level!" Like Ravenholm, the horror city. Every little thing is detailed, and there is just so much to do, like pull a switch to drop a car. There's basically anything that you can do, you will even have fun just walking around, shooting stuff and see what happens after you shoot them." "" "When it comes for the pc, you can edit the graphics with the pc. But, not everyone has a sexy computer, so the xbox version looks better, since the xbox has better graphics than an average computer. Hence the word average. If you have a decent or a sexy computer, the graphics on the pc will be way better than the xbox version. But, even though the pc version is better, the xbox version still looks good. You know, it's weird, Half-life 2 was made in 2004 for pc, and it looks better than the xbox, but the graphics are still amazing. Not only does it look good, graphic wise, but it looks real. All the buildings in the game look amazing, even the backyard looks amazing. They try to create every detail realistic, and that even means adding rust to certain objects. The sound of the game is amazing as well, with great voice acting. Also, you can hear the screams of the creatures so well, they make you jump.
