Wow! What a wonderful graphic!
But while the plot was worked out extremely poorly and game play is too monotonous the visualization is quite proper. Actually visual effects are wonderful! Shadows are soft, additional effects are perfect, locations look like real landscapes, play of shadows dazzles. And your hero can “touch” almost everything – tables, barrels and some other small object move very realistically.
As for dead bodies they move like it was in recent Hitmans – they react for shots and you even can beat them into steel containers with a submachine gun burst. One half of a body can be inside container, another – outside. So the only real advantage of the game is its technical side.
We are provided with not sprite but bright and green palm-trees, HDR, graphic dodges and old upgraded features. But El Matador has no things that could really attract gamers’ attention. Plot is poor, concept is outmoded, and sound track is bad. Its compositions are absolutely inappropriate for this type of games. You play ten minutes and then want this “music” just to shut up. And, by the way, when you turn it off, you feel much quieter.
Let’s sum it up
Advantages:
Wonderful graphic and visual effects as for this genre
Nice realization of slo-mo and some other effects
Disadvantages:
Plot is not worked out
Game play is monotonous
Music is disgusting
To enjoy El Matador, you need pass tutorial and a half of the first level. And immediately delete the game after that – only in this case you will get nice, fresh and pleasant impressions. If you don’t do it you will be completely disappointed.
