You also may modify it with scope sight, launcher, suppressor and many other features” – this is what it will be in Crysis. Do you feel difference? Each gun can be upgraded according to every player’s style (it is something like we had in Pariah).
On top of that we will have “combat suit” – the suit that allows us to feel comfort during all the game – it protects us from “sphere” and hides from aliens, reducing its temperature (aliens have “termosight” and react only at warmth). Modes combat-suit works in are changeable. If you choose “Strength” mode you can fight with your enemies in free-for-all. And that’s clear what “Speed” and “Invisibility” modes are responsible for.
As for graphic it is really fantastic. Developers use DirectX 10, pixel shaders v.4, Motion Blur, Depth of field and other features that sound like something from science fiction for an ordinary gamer. Besides there are three-dimensional clouds in the game and you fly through them so we may hope for battles in the air.
Sky in Crysis looks incredibly realistic especially in comparison with sky in other computer games that resembles wallpaper with clouds. Lightening is depicted very well too here. Developers hint they implement cataclysms (like earthquakes, tornados, tsunami and so on) in the game. Is this implemental as a matter of principle? Let us see. And of course there are soft shadows, dynamic change of light conditions and unbelievable visual effects here.
Bushes and branches of trees are depicted perfectly and react on touches of the characters. Destruction of trees is depicted with no scripts. It was demonstrated on E3 exhibition many times and it was proved that all the implementations are successful. Such a high level of interactivity provides wonderful opportunities for different tactic maneuvers.
You may kill all the soldiers hidden in a hut with only one grenade for example. One accurate hurl and they all are dead. And just imagine how entertaining skirmishing in forests will be! Tree destroyed in some special manner will be able to solve several problems simultaneously! Of course, your enemies will have such possibility as well so you should be careful.
It is quite astonishing but this game requires not only Vista but XP as well. In the latter case visual effects will be a little bit less amazing but still it will work. All the elements showed at E3 used DirectX 9. The configuration recommended is Radeon X1900/GeForce 7800, 2 Gb RAM and 3 GHz processor. In view of level of visual effects we could hardly expect for some other requirements. But you can play it on more middling computers soon as the game is going to be optimized.

A few words more
Developers approached to creation of multiplayer very seriously and promised to make it even better than single version. And it’s quite possible as one of multiplayer developers is a man who participated in Counter Strike development. It will be four tactic modes there. First three ones (“tactical deathmatch”, “tactical CTF” and ”tactical team Deathmatch”) are variations of standard web-shooters.
And “Power struggle” is much more interesting. Imagine Battlefield 2 with well developed economic component “like in Counter Strike” and in much larger scale than before. We have a vast map and two teams of players on it – Americans and Koreans. You get special points for the killed enemies. All the members of teams have different ranks from private up to general and the higher is the rank of the enemy you killed the more points you get. Points play here the same role as money did in Counter Strike.
You may buy new weapons and technologies for them. War factories, plants, bases and other important objects are dispersed on the map. Captured a plant? So you can make tanks, helicopters and other machines here!
The team that captured the majority of such objects automatically wins the round. Besides you may capture the technologies of aliens. It’s rather simple – for example, you found freezing canon, implemented the technology on your plants – and you will be able to produce freezing tanks soon! That’s great!
By the way there will be the change of light conditions in multiplayer too so you can plan night attacks against your enemies. Cryteck hasn’t appointed the date of release yet but the project is now on the stage of beta-version so we can get the game this year. If so it will definitely obtain “best shooter 2006” and “best graphic 2006” prizes. As for “Best multiplayer” the situation is not so evident now but the game certainly will lead in the first two parameters this year.
