Magi of people in Lineage 2

Magi of people in Lineage 2 world Each player will like the branch of human magi. Those who prefer fire will choose Sorcerer, those who have always dreamt to be an overlord of after world will become Necromancers, those who like calling summons will be Warlock. But not everybody wants just to kill, somebody has a desire to cure their wounded friends. They may take advantage of supporting magus Bishop which is the most powerful healer of the game. And those who want make them stronger should use a new class – Prophet. Each class is powerful and has its unique features. It’s up to you to choose, I’m just going to tell you about my expressions from each of them.

Sorc and Necro

Sorc is quite a middling unit among all the attack magi. While SpellHowler can cause much damage with one spell and speed of SpellSinger is amazing, Sorc’s Cast Speed and M. Atk. characteristics don’t impress at all. But he has its advantages. He may cast such unique spells as Cancel, Sleeping Cloud, Blazing Circle and Decay. Actually Sorc is very similar to SpellSinger. But SpellSinger and Sorcerer have Cancel and Sleeping Cloud. Both skills are very useful in different situations. By the way, I think I should tell you about effect from the usage of these skills first. Cancel. Neutralizes all the positive and negative effects target has.

Sleeping Cloud. It is the so-called crowd-control skill. Makes all the monsters sleep in a certain radius. It is very useful in large battles and good for improvement of your unit. And now let’s take examples of Cancel and Sleeping Cloud usage. Cancel, as I have already told you, is very useful when you rival is affected with buff. If he has Mental Shield it’s almost impossible to make him fall asleep. Just use Cancel before spelling. It’s very easy to kill your enemy when he has no buffs and sleeps. Sleeping Cloud will help you if you have many enemies attacking you.

Sometimes it’s better to use it with Blazing Circle simultaneously (this skill affects all the enemies around Sorc in a certain radius). I do not like to upgrade my units in that way because it’s risky. Sleeping Cloud may not affect some enemies, besides this skill has big delay. Decay. It’s a very useful skill. On the first level it causes 77 points of damage per second during 15 seconds and does not pull down dream like all the DoT-spell (Damage-over-Time).

The tactics of usage is as follows: first we use Cancel (if you are sure that enemy is not buffed you may not use Cancel), then “throw” Sleep, then Decay and waiting for 12-15 seconds, after that we use Prominence (the main Sorc’s attack skill). Usually it leads to enemies’ death in 90 per cent of cases. Sîrc is a universal magus with good package of spells and middle characteristics. He should wear tunic increasing Cast Speed. It’s better to use Devotion Set up to the 40th level; from the 40th till the 52th-55th levels Karmian Set will fit the best; from the 52th- 55th till the 62th-65th levels Avadon Set (Robe) will be an ideal variant; after the 62th-65th levels you may use Dark Crystal Set (Robe). Weapons should have ÑÀ on Acumen (+15% Cast Speed). In my opinion, the best representative of it is Homunkulus’s Sword. Of course, if you have money, you may buy Sword of Miracles. It’s rather easy to upgrade Sorc.

The monsters usually “fall” from 3-4 Prominences, but if there are too many enemies you’d better to use Sleep after 2-3 Prominences. Sleep gives you time to run away from a monster and to continue series from Prominences. It’s quite good to use Decay, but you may apply a simple Cancel-Sleep-Prominence-Sleep-Prominence-so on tactics as well. It will be effective too. Sorc should be recommended as a good class for beginners: it’s not difficult to play as it does not require delicate control.

And I do not recommend to beginners to choose the representatives of the next class. I’m sure that the first impression from playing with Necromancer will be negative for them. Necromancer Representative of after world. It’s considered to be the most powerful class of the game if it is — pay attention! — controlled very thoroughly. If so it can kill any enemy – it doesn’t matter is it a magus or a warrior. Only an archer may be a rival for Necro.

But if Necro is controlled properly he will wipe out even archer. Frankly speaking, I don’t like Necromancers very much because I lack flash-like reaction required for proper control over this class representatives. It’s really difficult to play with Necro. You have to think over each moment of battle thoroughly otherwise you will perish.

What are his advantages? Curses! Necromancer has big package of different curses. Some of them are useful always; some of them are used only in extreme situations. The most important thing is to realize which very curse should be applied in current situation. Here is the list of the curses that are used most often and description of their effects: Curse Gloom. Reduces magic defense of enemy very much. It should be used with an attack spell (up to the 46th-48th levels Blaze is the most suitable one).

The most useful debuffer. Anchor. Cripples enemies. The only disadvantage is it affects very seldom. Curse Chaos. Reduce accuracy. It’s good when used against warriors (especially archers). Forget. Helps to reduce quantity of attacking monsters (monster stops to attack). Silence. Prevent from usage of magic skills. It’s used against magi. As for simple attack skills Necromancer has only Vampiric Claw and Death Spike. They both cause much damage when used with Curse Gloom. And if you use Death Spike in a proper way, effect will be great. When I say “in a proper way” I don’t mean “constantly”. I mean that its usage should be rotated with Blaze and Vampiric Claw depending on the situation. Corpse Burst is used very seldom.

The skill blows up dead body and causes damage to enemies around it (Hi,Diablo 2!). Necro has two types of poison: Poisonous Cloud (mass poison) and Curse Poison (simple poison). They may be used with Sleep and Decay. Necro has two sorts of summons to use: Summon Corrupted Man and Summon Reanimated Man. Corrupted Man takes 90% of experience for destruction of a monster. It has many ÍÐ, good defense and causes much damage. Corrupted Man can use Steel Blood spell as well. It’s an analogue of Vampiric Touch (Vampiric Claw), that is to say it causes damage and restore summon’s ÍÐ.

It’s a very useful spell. Reanimated Man is good for upgrading of your unit. It takes 30% of experience for monster destruction but it is very weak itself – it dies very quickly without support of master so you shouldn’t use it against strong monsters in one-to-one battle. Necro has no buffs and it can’t cure its summons but it has Transfer Pain instead. It helps very much when you upgrade your unit with summons. Summon may be used for self-cure applying Vampiric Claw.

By the way, don’t forget that both types of summons are called from dead bodies! And finally a few words about Curse Death Link skill (available from the 52th level). The less HP you have the more damage is caused by this skill. The skill is casted quickly, has small Delay and causes enormous damage. Personally I acted in the following way: when my HP was 250-300 or less I began to use Curse Death Link only. Monsters died after 2 or 3 spells! Average damage for monster of the 50th level (I had the 52th one) was 1700-2000 for one usage (with Curse Gloom). Let’s talk about weapons. Everything is quite simple here: you’d better to gather sets improving intellect or increasing Cast Speed.

Carmian Set, Àvadon Set, Zoobey Såt (Robe) and Doom Såt (Robe) will be good. Weapons should be bought with ÑÀ on Acumen (+15% Cast Speed). There a lot of tactics for Necro. First always use Curse Gloom, then Blaze (or Death Spike if you have Curse Bone). You may use Curse Death Link but you’d better to be careful with it! If you are not going to use upgrading tactics with Curse Death Link (by the way, I think that this tactics is the best one so try to learn how to apply it) then exercise Vampiric Claw for ÍÐ restoring. Actually there are plenty of tactics — Curse Death Link, Death Spike, Vampiric Claw and Blaze are combined with each other perfectly. Necromancer is invincible when controlled by ingenious player.

I may admit it is the most powerful class of the game with one condition – player must always control it. While playing by Necromancer you won’t have any free time. Not a second. You will have to think over each your move very carefully and to predict each move of your enemies to be ready for counteraction. Fortunately Necromancer has all the means for that. Fighting against Necro may be both simple or impossible. Necromancer can kill in a few seconds but he may perish even faster. Want to play with this character? Improve your mastery in controlling try to learn similar actions of your enemies. Use your enemies’ tricks against them.

Don’t fear to practice Curse Death Link when having a few ÍÐ but don’t play a hero. Maybe you will have to restore your HP with Vampiric Claw in some situations. It will give you a chance to hold out longer and maybe to destroy your enemy with summon using his Steel Blood skill! Or maybe it’s better to apply Anchor? If it affects you easily win. As you see, there are a lot of variants of decision but can you concentrate and take the only right one? If you sure you can then choose Necromancer.

Warlock

This is one of three summoners in the game. The other two ones are: Elemental Summoner and Phantom Summoner. Warlock is a very rare class. It’s difficult to play with him. In some parameters it’s worse than the other two summons. Warlock’s summon has no special skills but it is the quickest summon in the game when buffed. Two types of cubics are available for Warlock: Storm Cubic è Binding Cubic.

They are useful but it’s better not to rely on them in extreme situations. Storm Cubic. Sometimes this cubic casts a spell which is very similar to Wind Strike but causes heavier damage. Additional damage is never odd especially when somebody casts it for you. Binding Cubic. This cubic cripples enemies. Frankly speaking it is not very useful because the chance the cripple affects is too small – about 15-20% (all the cripple spells affect seldom).

But if it works you will win the battle very easily. And to start fighting considering cubic will cripple your enemy and having it as your only hope is evidently silly action. Actually I liked Warlock the least among the other summoners. The fighting tactics is almost the same for all the summoners as well as weapons are. I think all these features are not worth detailed revising.

I just will remind you the main principles:

1) Always call your summons and cubics before the battle as you won’t have enough time for that later.

2) Always buff your summons after having called them.

3) Always use the skill Transfer Pain when enemy attacks you not your summon.

4) You’d better to use ordinary weapons not magic ones. Bow will be the best choice

5) Don’t forget to cure your summon with the skill Servitors HP.

6) Use Kai the Cat while upgrading. If you act in this way you will succeed playing with Warlock.

Supporting classes

Bishop It’s time to tell you about supporting magi. Let’s start with a healer. Bishop has the best cure in the game. Unlike Prophet he doesn’t upgrade the skill Dryad Roots after the 40th level. Sleep skill continue to upgrade instead. Like Elven Elder he has Might of Heaven skill causing much damage to undead. Bishop is a panacea. It can cure bleeding, toxication and even paralyzation. It has plenty of skills for struggle against undead. Bishop’s cure is useful for any fighter. It has very good skill — Restore Life that can restore up to 30% ÍÐ! It should wear tunic like any other magus. The best weapons are dualas. Bow doesn’t match as Bishop has no Dryad Roots upgrading after the 40th level. Tunics should be the best ones from the grade because the more mana the better it is for you. This class is useful for clans as it has Mass Resurrection skill.

Mass Resurrection can resurrect all the members of the clan Bishop is the member. Of course, all the killed members of the clan must be nearby. This skill is extremely good for mass events like siege. But it has long recoil — 10 minutes after the latest usage. Bishop’s resurrection restores 60 per cent of lost experience (if upgrading is maximum). And this is extremely important on the high levels.

It has some sense to tell you about fighting tactics for Bishop only when talking about upgrading solo in struggle with undead. But in any case it is not sophisticated at all. Might of Heaven will be the main skill. It causes much damage and has standard Cast Speed 2,5 seconds only. Besides it copes with undead very well. Even if the enemy came up very far you may make it fall asleep or use, for example, Hold Undead crippling undead. The skill is casted very long so it’s better to do it up front or even before the battle as it can not affect the target. But still Bishop is not as good as the next class - Prophet. Although bishop is very useful you can upgrade your unit without its help.

And without help of Prophet you can’t hope for success in the fight with monsters on the high (60+) levels because it will finish with death. And not with monsters’ one. Prophet This is the best buffer of the game. Upgrading on the high levels (55+) depends only on them or it’s better to say on their buffs. This class is extremely useful in all the meanings of the word. It may cure on the Cleric level and has Dryad Roots skill that goes on to upgrade after the 40th level. Everyone needs Prophet’s buffs. Let’s differentiate buffs that are good for warriors from those which are useful for magi.

         Buffs generally required:

1) The main buff for everybody is Wind Walk. It increases moving speed very much so it is extremely useful for everybody without any exceptions.

2) Shield. Increases physical defense.

3) Magic Barrier. Increases defense from magic.

4) Regeneration. Increases ÍÐ regeneration.

5) Mental Aegis. Increases defense from magic.

6) Bless the Soul. Increases maximum quantity of ÌÐ.

7) Bless the Body. Increases maximum quantity of ÌÐ.

          Buffs for magi only:

1) Greater Acumen. Only Prophet has this buff that is very useful for him. It increases Cast Speed for 30 per cent and is required for any good attack magus! By the way it may be useful for the warrior of dark elves as well.

2) Greater Concentration. Reduces chance of unsuccessful spell.

3) Berserker Spirit. Increases Attack Speed, physical damage and Cast Speed but reduces physical defense.

        Buffs for warriors only:

1) Bless Shield. Increases shield block frequency. It’s very useful for tanks.

2) Focus. Increases critical attack frequency. Good for everybody but especially for archers and daggers.

3) Death Whisper. Increases damage causing by critical attack. Very useful for daggers and archers.

4) Guidance. Increases accuracy. Useful for daggers and archers.

5) Might. Increases physical damage.

6) Haste. This is the most useful buff for any warrior. It increases Attack Speed. From the 52th level of Prophet it increases Attack Speed for 33 per cent!

Prophet can improve everyone so much that you will be able to win the enemy which is 10 levels higher. That is to say totally improved Hawk of the 50th level will be able to kill TX of the 60th level if it is not buffed. Prophet like Bishop should wear the best tunic of the grade that is to say the clothes giving the most spell points as buffs require much mana. Sometimes you have to buff 5-8 units!

Prophets may earn money selling buffs. Some people make 500000-1000000 aden per evening. It’s a very profitable business. It’s better to sell buffs in the place where everybody upgrade their units. For example, in Forbidden Gateway. The best weapon is bow. It is used with Dryad Roots skill. But Prophet should be upgraded in a party. There is no fighting tactics for Prophet because there is no buffer which could survive in a battle. As for upgrading solo it is carried out like in the case with Shilien Elder.

First use Dryad Roots against monsters, then bow them and attack with dualas. Then run away, cure yourself and use dualas again. Like all the support classes Prophet has advantage of other classes when entering the clan. Even if they take into clan only from the 55th level Prophet may be taken when having the 48th level! So you may not worry about your future playing with Prophet. The place in a good clan will be guaranteed to you!
