Developed by Irrational Games, the minds behind Freedom Force and System Shock 2. BioShock is a first-person action RPG set against an alternate World War II backdrop. It seems the Nazis are up to no good again. This time they're combining soldiers with all manner of nasty creatures to form genetically altered mutants which are as creepy as they are deadly.
Mixing a spine-chilling setting, sci-fi themes, RPG elements and a deep storyline with first-person action, BioShock resembles System Shock 2 in several ways, and although BioShock does not take place in the System Shock universe, it can be thought of as a spiritual successor to the series.
